Just a week ago we reported on a horrific shooting that occurred just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio during a party thrown by a pregnant woman to celebrate her new baby. It was during this party that witnesses claimed two masked gunmen stormed into the home and opened fire. Nine people, including young children, were injured and one woman died as a result of the bizarre shooting. The alleged mother-to-be had been shot in the leg and later told reporters she had lost the baby. Now police are saying the party’s hostess, 21-year-old Cheyanne Willis, was never pregnant.

According to USA Today, police have stated that they have wasted valuable man hours following false leads provided by witnesses at the party. During a statement, Colerain Township Police Chief Mark Denney said, “From the very beginning of this investigation, we have met significant resistance that is uncommon from victims of crime wanting a resolution.”

Police say there is a lot of speculation right now and so far there have been no arrests made. Included within this speculation is whether or not this case is connected to another attack Willis had been involved in.

On Christmas Eve 2015, Willis had been at Forest Park Mall when she had been attacked. Willis had been robbed, beaten, had her hair cut off, and her attackers wrote “I just got my ass whooped” on her face. Her attackers had also recorded a video of the beating, which was later posted on social media in order to taunt Willis.

Two people – a man and a woman – were charged in the attack. The Hamilton County grand jury later dropped the case and the pair were never prosecuted.
