Bonus Content
The small town of Kenmare, ND, takes pride in its low crime rate. Neighbors know each other, community events are busy and joyful, and children play outside.
Yet one backyard was particularly quiet. One classroom chair was suddenly empty. One home held a horrible secret. One boy bore the pain of that secret—alone.
Aidan Bossingham was only 13 years old when police responded to a 911 call in Kenmare, ND. The officer who arrived tried to revive the boy, who was draped across his mother’s lap. Rigor mortis had already set in… as had suspicion. Police immediately felt uneasy about the situation and called for assistance.
The investigation into Aidan’s death brings tears to detectives’ eyes to this day. They were looking for clues to his murder; what they found was a little boy forsaken—not only by the people who should have loved him most, but by systems that failed to protect him.
In this episode of Sword and Scale, we learn about a little boy beset by evil, and a community that roused from its sleep to seek justice.
