Possession
An ordinary night between friends turned into a nightmare when a brutal attack left two women dead and a young boy fighting for his life. As investigators searched for answers, their only hope of uncovering the truth may have been the one person who survived.
In April 2012, Rhonda Hammonds was raising her young son, Curtis, in San Antonio, Texas. Her friend and fellow bartender, Casey Sweetwood, was spending the night at Rhonda’s house while her own home was being fumigated. It was an ordinary favor between friends. By morning, nothing about that house would be ordinary again.
A violent attack left Rhonda and Casey dead. Curtis was found outside, gravely wounded. Whatever had happened inside, he had somehow made it as far as a neighbor’s porch.
Police had three victims and a child who might be able to tell them what happened. But one question was harder to answer: why would someone attack everyone in the house?
In this episode of Sword and Scale, a night spent among friends becomes a scene of extraordinary cruelty, and the smallest person in the house may hold the key to what happened.
